World Diabetes Day 2016

World Diabetes Day on November 14 will draw attention to the urgent need for the earlier detection of diabetes worldwide. The theme for 2016, ‘Eyes on Diabetes’, will also raise awareness of the risks of the sight-related conditions diabetes can cause.

Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing health problems facing the world today, with more than 640 million people expected to be living with the condition by 2040. However, according to the International Diabetes Federation, one out of every two adults with diabetes worldwide remains undiagnosed despite the fact that Type 2 diabetes can be managed and treated with early detection.
